Name: Nozomi Yumehara

OU/AU/OC: AU - AU'd from [community profile] mayfield_rpg
Canon Point: Canon - post episode 6 of Yes!, AU - end of game
History: Canon: http://prettycure.wikia.com/wiki/Yumehara_Nozomi

Into AU: Nozomi's life got flipped as she found herself waking up in the strange, idealistic 1950's American town of Mayfield, alongside her friend Rin Natsuki and their designated "father" Scott Pilgrim. Yes, that Scott Pilgrim. During her first month of staying, she was nearly convinced to "erase" her life to save everyone else, but declined because of knowing doing so would hurt others.

During her time in the town, Nozomi would find herself being tossed all over the place, dealing with the town's madness - investigating the mysterious dairy factory, pranking and being pranked for April Fools soon after being forced to write down her secret identity and dealing with a strange carnival, but keeping a bright, hopeful outlook. Things would change when it stood revealed that a woman held the key to freeing everyone. Not willing to stand around and do nothing, Nozomi recruited Rin and another "citizen" - Shoutarou Hidari, Kamen Rider Joker - to investigate one of the portals that showed up. Together, the three recovered an item and used it to help restore that person's memories. However, the city itself started to fight back, repressing everyone's memories temporarily. Even more, it seemed that the person who had the means of saving them was killed after another one of the town's twisted controllers, a Mrs. Johnson, took over.

It was during this time that everyone would learn the truth from the original controller, Jonathan Zemekis: that they were not real, they were nothing more than computer constructs that he copied from the real people and tried to force everyone to enjoy this new life. Despite this reveal, Nozomi took it in incredible stride, persuading herself that she was her own person and that she took comfort in knowledge in knowing the real her was safe. Soon after, the town started to crumble as Mrs. Johnson went on a rampage. During them, Nozomi encountered and forced to fight the mage Hayate Yagami as Hayate's body was being controlled by Mrs. Johnson. When the person Nozomi helped returned with a path out of Mayfield, Nozomi was one of those who took the offer, rescuing Hayate and taking Rin with her, the trio leaving the town with the others. Without a family, Hayate "adopted" the two, adding in her "daughter" Sasami Masaki Jurai, the pirate Captain Marvelous and his "daughter" Ako Shirabe and started to make a new life in this nameless town.

At least until now.
Personality: Nozomi is your standard magical girl warrior-type character spun from the same cloth as Sailor Moon: ditzy, a little scatterbrained, clumsy, yet very sweet, caring and devoted to her friends. She's a very capable person when she puts her mind to it and is really willing to see things through. As such, she rarely backs down from any challenge, even if that challenge tends to be incredibly tough. A thing that tends to worry her friends is when she lets out her trademark cry of "Kettei!" ("It's decided!"). At that point, she has made up her mind on something and she's ready to see it through. The reason why she got her team in the first place? Because of this determination, going so far to finally reach out to the cool and distant Karen and win her over as a friend and a teammate.

Nozomi is someone who would go out of her way to help friends in trouble, even if it was detrimental to herself. She skipped class to aid her new friend (and future teammate) Urara in showing her around the school and even took up the lead role in a stage show despite Rin pointing out how she was kicked out of the drama club because of her destructive clumsiness. At the same time, Nozomi has a hard time focusing on things that she absolutely hates. She's actually ran out of a study session because the other girls forced her into it and she got so frustrated that she couldn't take it anymore.

A major facet of her personality is her defence of dreams. She thinks that all dreams are special, even if she doesn't have one herself (at that point), which is why she doesn't laugh at Komachi's dream of being a writer. At the same time, she has no room to care for incredibly selfish dreams and if those dreams ruin those of others, then those who dream those are beyond redemption.

As Cure Dream, Nozomi takes a much more commanding tone, becoming a vastly different person than she usually is. If it's because she being a Cure gives her that confidence or if it's because she's actively defending something, it's hard to tell. However, because she has a strong sense of justice, Nozomi will refuse to back down and defend people and dreams alike with all of her might, no matter how dangerous it is. It's because of all of this that she was chosen leader of the team.

Her time in Mayfield, surprisingly, changed very little of her personality. Despite knowing that she wasn't real and that she wasn't going home, Nozomi is still filled with a lot of confidence. She wants to protect the new town she lives in (and she'll go as far as want to protect Ponyville once she arrives there) and strengthen the bonds between her new family, all of which she loves very much.
Strengths: As Cure Dream, Nozomi has incredible strength, speed, stamina and agility, marking her different from most non-Precure magical girls. This allows her to battle beasts stronger than her, leap incredible distances and take a massive beating (in most showings, none of the characters have been shown with anything out of place, except for dirtied outfits.). Thanks to Mayfield's odd regain system, Nozomi is armed with two transformation devices, both of them giving her different costumes and powers.

Through the use of the Pinky Catch wristwatch, she takes up the form of the season one Cure Dream (on the wiki link, that's the one on the left). In that form, her main attack is an energy attack known as "Precure Dream Attack", which is basically launching an energy butterfly at her opponents. With the use of the CureMo cellphone, she takes up the form of the season two/Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GO!GO! Cure Dream (on the wiki link, that's the one on the right). There, her main attack is the "Precure Shooting Star", a flying and diving attack similar to the "Shinespark" used by characters and machines such as Samus Aran and Getter Dragon. She also possesses the Shining Fleuret, one of five Cure Fleurets, a fencing-like blade.
Weaknesses: As stated above, Nozomi's biggest weakness is the fact that she'll absolutely refuse to do things if she hates it and will run off if forced. As well, without her devices, Nozomi is just a basic young 15-year-old girl.
Possessions: Pinky Catch - her initial transformation device in the form of a wristwatch. It had two functions: to transform Nozomi into Cure Dream and to capture creatures known as Pinkies. The second function was disabled while in Mayfield.

CureMo - her second transformation device in the form of a cellphone. This device had three functions: to transform Nozomi into Cure Dream, to capture creatures known as Palmins and to communicate with the other girls. As this device was from Nozomi's far future, only the transformation portion was active.
Pony/Animal Type: Unicorn
Cutie Mark: A combination of a butterfly and a rose

First Person: Oh, hey! Isn't this cool? I can write using my horn... but, why is it coming up in English. I do horrible in forigen languages and I don't even speak it! Maybe Mayfield altered me with that, too, and I never realized it...

Anyway, my name's Nozomi Yumehara! It's a real great pleasure to meet you all! I don't know why I'm here or what I have to do just yet, but whatever it is, I'm more than willing to help out, no matter what!

Oh! Um, is there anyone from Mayfield here? Maybe a Hayate or an Ako or a Rin or Captain Marvelous or anyone like that? Maybe we can meet up and see how everyone's doing, yes?
Third Person: "So, this is how being a pony is like, huh?" Nozomi mused. Having arrived in Ponyville not too long ago, the girl seemed actually nonplussed by it all. Then again, living in a hellzone like Mayfield may have dulled that sensation a little bit. "It's actually kinda--ULP!" Spoke too soon -- Nozomi's wandering and gazing got the better of her and she tripped herself over her own hooves, sending the magenta-and-pink-maned pony stumbling head over hooves into a heap near a tree.

"Whoops. I'm fine! Meant to do that!" she said, trying to brush off anyone's concerns that the pony was hurt. Rolling back onto her hooves, she looked up and gave a small sigh. "No sign of anyone else from home... but, everyone... er... h-how did they say it? 'everypony'?... here is a pony." Then, it dawned on her. "Wait a moment - there were ponies in Mayfield, too! Like Pinkie Pie and... and... oh, what's her name, the one who I saw acting like she was an action spy... maybe they're here, too!"

A lot more confidence and determination came to Nozomi at that, thrusting a hoof into the sky. "KETTEI~! I'm gonna go and find everyone I can, starting with them! I know they're around here somewhere!"
